Self-Assembled Hyaluronic Acid Nanoparticles as a Potent Nanomedicine for Type 2 Diabetes
We are interested in research for the discovery of new target substances for thetreatment of diabetes.
Recently, we report that an self assembly Hyaluronic Acid Nanoparticles (HA-NP) has therapeutic effects on Type 2 diabetes.
Treatment with HA-NPs in mice fed a high-fat diet suppressed macrophage infiltration into adipose tissue and activation of Nlrp3-ASC inflammasome, leading to reduced pro-inflammatory cytokines, normalized fasting blood glucose levels, and improved insulin sensitivity. These findings suggest that HA-NP could be a therapeutic agent for the treatment of type 2 diabetes
